Provide administrative support for physicians’ clinical, academic, and research activities at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, including patient scheduling, records, referrals, billing, and correspondence.

  • Support physicians in clinical, academic, and research activities
  • Screen calls, take messages, and route telephone inquiries
  • Welcome and direct patients, families, visitors, and staff
  • Update patient demographics and insurance details and secure specialist referrals
  • Schedule patient visits and coordinate related appointments and procedures
  • Request patient information and documentation from referral sources
  • Prepare and maintain physicians’ patient records
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external customers
  • Protect confidential information and explain relevant policies and procedures
  • Collect patient co-payments and coordinate billing tickets
  • Reconcile daily collections at the close of business
  • Maintain physicians’ clinical and administrative calendars
  • Prepare correspondence and manuscripts, transcribe letters and patient notes, and support clinical computer systems
  • Compile and distribute routine reports
  • Notify, confirm, and remind patients about scheduled appointments
  • Secure authorization for radiologic examinations
  • Sort, copy, file, and distribute correspondence and mail
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives

Reikalavimai

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One to three years of related work experience required
  • Computer proficiency required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in small teams
  • Professional and respectful customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving
  • Ability to stay composed in stressful situations
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Associate degree preferred
