- Interpret between languages for people who need support overcoming communication barriers.
- Handle on-demand telephone and video calls using consecutive interpretation between English and Mandarin speakers.
- Process information quickly and accurately while recognizing cultural sensitivities and maintaining professional, courteous conduct.
- Apply appropriate industry terminology and understand common procedures and practices.
- Interpret conversations related to healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, 911 emergency services, law enforcement, courts, and general business.
Requirements
- Demonstrate excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain accuracy.
- Stay focused, detached, neutral, and objective during conversations.
- Establish personal credibility quickly.
- Follow client instructions closely.
- Explain cultural concepts to help prevent miscommunication when the client permits or requests it.
- Read and write Chinese characters.
- Have B2 CEFR English proficiency and bilingual ability in the other required language.
- Be able to work permanently from home.
