Develop deep-learning and recommendation systems that personalize Pinterest experiences across Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search. Improve retrieval and machine learning models through experimentation and large-scale data analysis.

Description

  • Develop deep-learning and machine-learning technologies that personalize Pinterest
  • Collaborate across Pinterest teams to test and enhance models for Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search
  • Apply data-driven techniques and distinctive data characteristics to improve candidate retrieval
  • Contribute in a fast-moving environment focused on experimentation and product launches
  • Track developments in recommendation-system research and industry practice

Requirements

  • PhD or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field
  • Two years of experience in the offered role, or at least one year in the offered role or a related software engineering or machine learning engineering position
  • At least one year of experience using Java to build scalable, high-performance backend services for real-time recommendation pipelines
  • At least one year of experience evaluating and improving machine learning models
  • At least one year of experience developing and optimizing large-scale recommendation algorithms
  • At least one year of experience applying Natural Language Processing to recommendation systems
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Ability to solve analytical problems with quantitative methods
  • Experience adapting standard machine learning techniques to parallel environments, including distributed clusters, multicore SMP, or GPUs
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures
  • Knowledge of signal processing
  • Knowledge of data mining
  • Experience collecting, transforming, or analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from diverse sources
  • Applicants must be based in the United States
