Property Claims Representative III - California Remote

Description

  • Manage complex property, collapse, earth movement, and building or structure loss claims at the company’s highest technical level.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate property claims.
  • Provide technical supervision when the manager is absent.
  • Support regional audits.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced Claim Representatives.
  • Complete additional duties assigned by the Claim Manager or Director.
  • Inspect claim sites and properties.
  • Explain policy contract interpretations and complex legal concepts.
  • Partner with agencies and policyholders to achieve effective claim resolutions.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Seven years of claims experience, including at least three years managing complex claim files.
  • Knowledge of applicable claims laws, including civil and tort law, as well as current property insurance case law and issues.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics and standard accounting practices used for gross and net income or living-expense calculations.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to explain complex legal concepts and policy contract interpretations in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Ability to inspect sites and properties, including roofs, basements, and attics, with potential use of ladders or stairs and kneeling, crawling, or bending.
  • Valid California driver license and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Residence in the Central Valley, including the Fresno, Visalia, or Bakersfield territory.
