Long-Term Disability Claims Specialist – Hybrid

Serve as Prudential’s technical expert for long-term disability claims, guiding claim professionals through complex cases. Analyze risks, coach teams, and help improve claim outcomes.

Description

  • Act as a Long-Term Disability technical expert and trusted resource for the Team Lead and claims professionals
  • Guide policy interpretation, medical and vocational assessments, claim strategy, benefit eligibility, and next steps
  • Coach claims professionals on complex cases and reinforce effective claim management practices
  • Deliver timely, practical feedback that strengthens technical capability and execution
  • Review claim activity and outcomes to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for coaching, process improvement, or escalation
  • Work with the Team Lead to monitor and sustain claim block health
  • Evaluate inventory and performance indicators, identify risks, recommend priorities, and support corrective action
  • Contribute to technical training, knowledge sharing, and skills development
  • Advise on high-risk, escalated, and technically complex claims
  • Create and maintain technical resources, procedures, job aids, and best-practice guidance
  • Handle additional technical, coaching, analytical, and operational priorities as assigned

Requirements

  • At least three years of experience managing Long-Term Disability claims
  • Proven technical expertise in evaluating, consulting on, and resolving complex claims
  • Advanced understanding of Long-Term Disability policy provisions, medical and vocational factors, benefit calculations, Social Security benefits, and other deductible income sources
  • Strong communication, consultation, presentation, and facilitation abilities
  • Capacity to independently assess complex or high-risk claims and recommend sound strategies and next steps
  • Demonstrated ability to coach claims professionals and deliver actionable feedback
  • Ability to interpret claim data, inventory measures, and activity trends
  • Adaptability in adjusting technical support, coaching, and priorities as needs change
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel, including data and reporting tools
