Lead Employee Relations Partner - Connecticut Remote

Lead complex employee relations investigations for Akumin, a nationwide outpatient radiology and oncology provider. Advise leaders, prepare defensible findings, and mentor employee relations specialists in a remote role.

Description

  • Manage formal investigations into escalated concerns such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower reports, ethics violations, and leadership misconduct
  • Create investigation plans, establish case scope, identify applicable policies, and prepare structured witness interview guides
  • Conduct impartial, sensitive interviews with complainants, witnesses, and respondents
  • Collect, assess, and preserve physical, digital, and circumstantial evidence
  • Prepare timely, objective reports covering factual findings, credibility assessments, policy application, and root-cause analysis
  • Maintain complete case files and documentation in line with legal requirements and corporate standards
  • Track and document case activity in the department’s employee relations case management system
  • Partner with Employment Counsel, Compliance, and senior operational leaders on findings and corrective actions
  • Guide business leaders through complex policy interpretation and workplace dispute resolution
  • Review employee relations metrics to identify risks across multiple locations
  • Recommend policy updates, leadership coaching, management interventions, and targeted training to help prevent recurrence
  • Mentor the Employee Relations Specialist and provide technical escalation support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least five years of dedicated employee relations or workplace investigation experience
  • Substantial experience supporting high-volume, multi-location, or distributed frontline workforces
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and FLSA
  • Strong investigative interviewing and evidence assessment skills
  • Ability to remain neutral and objective during highly sensitive escalations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing clear, concise, defensible investigation reports
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • AWI-CH, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Experience with employee relations case management platforms such as HR Acuity, Navex, or ServiceNow HRSD preferred
  • Experience in clinical healthcare, diagnostic imaging, oncology, or other regulated patient-care environments preferred
  • Experience with Workday, VMS, or other recruiting and workforce technology preferred
