Freight Forwarding Operations Specialist - Dalian
Support freight forwarding operations for DSV’s global transport and logistics services in Dalian. Manage customer inquiries, shipment bookings, documentation, invoicing, and cargo tracking.
Description
- Deliver responsive, efficient, and high-quality customer service
- Prepare freight charge quotations for shippers and consignees when required
- Respond to customer inquiries by telephone, email, and in person
- Track and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and claims
- Work with relevant departments to address operational issues
- Provide customers with pre-claim information and progress updates
- Escalate irregularities to supervisors and report on subcontractor service quality and standards
- Send shipping advice to overseas stations
- Complete other duties assigned by management
- Provide team coverage and support when needed
Requirements
- Maintain regular business knowledge and follow-up to comply with regional guidelines, company policies, and established procedures
- Apply local standard operating procedures when working with shippers and consignees
- Complete due diligence and validate documents against DSV standards and customer requirements
- Follow approved operating procedures and implement system updates correctly
- Book shipments in accordance with applicable procedures and quotations
- Escalate irregularities and operational issues to supervisors
- Check customer credit terms and current credit status
- Compile customer statistics and operational reports
- Prepare waybills, warehouse advice, trucking orders, invoices, and other documents requested by customers
- Complete invoicing, invoice checks and posting, and job costing activities
- Maintain accurate Track and Trace updates
