Field Service Technician – Quito, Ecuador

SICPA is seeking a Field Service Technician in Quito to deliver Level 2 support, maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting for security and authentication systems. The role supports customer operations, field deployments, and service reliability in an on-site, full-time position.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 support for hardware, software, and operational incidents
  • Investigate and resolve service issues within established service-level commitments
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and responsive corrective repairs
  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize systems and related applications
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and complete scheduled calibrations
  • Keep technical records current and assist with repair center operations
  • Coordinate service delivery with field technicians and internal support teams
  • Connect Level 2 and Level 3 teams to facilitate effective technical resolution
  • Support deployments, upgrades, testing activities, and system validation
  • Escalate high-impact incidents and contribute to formal incident resolution
  • Track service performance and help identify operational improvements
  • Participate in on-call coverage and emergency technical interventions as needed
  • Deliver on-site technical assistance to customers and operational personnel
  • Transfer technical knowledge and help develop capabilities within local teams
  • Advance continuous improvement, system reliability, and service quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Technical degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, telecommunications, information technology, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support
  • Background supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related problems
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
  • Understanding of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with IT support tools including FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote-access solutions
  • PLC configuration and basic programming skills
  • Experience in beverage, tobacco, fuel, manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory settings
