Malay linguist and copy editor translating, editing, and performing MTPE on global marketing, UI, product, support, informational, and legal content. Remote contract project with Welo Global in Japan.
Description
- Translate, copy-edit, and perform MTPE on marketing, UI, product, support, informational, and legal content
- Contribute to a long-term project for a multinational company
- Deliver at least 5,000 words per week
- Work with a client-specific CAT tool after receiving onboarding training
- Collaborate on high-visibility international projects
- Develop a long-term partnership with Welo Global
Requirements
- Native or near-native Malay proficiency
- Excellent command of English
- Either at least two years of professional translation experience with a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, or at least five years of professional translation experience without a formal translation degree
- Demonstrated experience translating English into Malay for informational, marketing, UI, product, and support content
- Experience working with CAT tools
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to produce high-quality translations while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced localization environment
- Strong communication, responsiveness, reliability, and willingness to incorporate feedback and revisions
