Lead district sales strategy, revenue growth, customer development, and team performance for White Cap’s construction-supply business in Toronto. Oversee territories, key accounts, staffing, forecasting, coaching, and sales operations.

Description

  • Lead execution of district sales strategies and operating plans
  • Direct resources toward profitable revenue growth
  • Improve sales effectiveness with district and regional sales partners
  • Inspire the team to deliver profitable business results
  • Track, analyze, and report district sales performance
  • Design the district sales organization to use resources effectively
  • Support staffing processes and advise on organizational needs, associate actions, and sales team development
  • Sell directly to key district customers
  • Manage sales territories and develop inside sales, outside sales, and special products sales representatives
  • Organize sales meetings and account events to bid on jobs and win new business
  • Forecast and deliver budgeted sales targets
  • Oversee sales and customer service activities and implement retention programs
  • Plan, forecast, and report on sales performance, competitor pricing, activities, and tactics
  • Encourage market and technology research
  • Develop and execute district advertising and promotional plans
  • Negotiate special pricing and product availability with key vendors
  • Coach, motivate, and develop team members
  • Oversee prospecting and allocate accounts to improve sales performance and revenue
  • Conduct ride-alongs and visit current and prospective customers
  • Recruit and interview candidates to support business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Generally 7 or more years of experience in a related field
  • Certification may be required
  • An advanced degree may substitute for some experience in certain disciplines
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 10 years of industry sales experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with the area customer base
  • Strong sales management experience
  • Product knowledge
  • Supervisory experience
  • Typically able to travel overnight 20% to 50% of the time
