Business Process Outsourcing Manager, California (Remote)

Lead clients’ accounting operations within Citrin Cooperman’s advisory practice. Oversee financial reporting, staff, accounting system implementations, and process improvements.

Description

  • Oversee clients’ daily financial operations, including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, collections, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure the team follows internal procedures, processes, and controls.
  • Manage onshore and offshore staff handling transactions, technical accounting, and data synthesis for client reports and analyses.
  • Help prepare financial statements in accordance with applicable guidelines and requirements.
  • Coordinate communications with vendors, customers, partners, shareholders, banks, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee journal entries and reconciliations, and coordinate monthly and annual close processes.
  • Help prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Review accounting records to find and correct inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Transition clients to new accounting systems and clean up their books and records.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting decisions.
  • Build models and analyses in response to client requests.
  • Drive ongoing improvements to internal operations through better processes, technology, or organizational structures.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or in a similar role.
  • Experience across multiple industries; professional services, manufacturing, construction, and healthcare are especially valued.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance processes, including budgeting, financial close, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of and experience with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
  • Experience with multiple accounting systems, such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, and other mid-market accounting and ERP platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certification, such as a CPA, is a plus.
  • Experience participating in an ERP implementation is a plus.
