Control Management Analyst - American Express (Hybrid, Gurugram)

Description

  • Investigate recurring operational issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of issue and ORE documentation, including urgency, severity, impact, and impact analysis.
  • Track remediation progress, validate resolution effectiveness, and provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Review the accuracy and maintenance of issue, ORE, and remediation records.
  • Analyze issue and event trends to identify systemic risks and control weaknesses in business-unit processes.
  • Support reviews of the end-to-end business-unit issue-resolution process.
  • Perform sample testing to confirm that issue resolutions are complete and effective.
  • Review data supporting detailed reports on issue status, trends, and outcomes.
  • Help share insights, effective practices, and recurring themes across the enterprise.
  • Work with partners across business units, functional areas, and geographies.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of experience in operational risk management, such as within a risk or internal audit function.
  • Working knowledge of critical activities across the operational risk management lifecycle.
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Experience with process governance and processes aligned to policies, regulatory frameworks, or operational standards.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability, including data analysis, trend identification, and evaluation of risk scenarios.
  • Experience in at least one relevant area: scoping, prioritizing, and supporting operational issue remediation; investigating issues and performing root-cause analysis; quality assurance for operational risk issue and event documentation; recommending remediation strategies; maintaining documentation and records; or supporting the end-to-end issue-resolution process.
  • Successful completion of a background verification check.
