Community Integration Practitioner - Surrey (Hybrid)

Support newcomers through settlement planning, orientation, referrals, interpretation, and community outreach. Deliver consultations, workshops, and integration services for S.U.C.C.E.S.S. clients.

Description

  • Deliver outcome-focused settlement programs for eligible clients
  • Assess newcomer needs across language, employment, housing, and community connection priorities
  • Create settlement plans and provide follow-up support based on client needs
  • Maintain client records, settlement plans, attendance data, and program outcomes in the database
  • Refer clients to suitable services or coordinate access on their behalf
  • Explain settlement and integration resources in Canada and the communities where clients plan to settle
  • Conduct individual consultations in person, by email, online, and by phone
  • Deliver information and orientation through workshops, group sessions, and classes
  • Build relationships with government bodies, professional associations, businesses, schools, and community services
  • Lead guided visits to government and community resources
  • Plan and deliver events such as job fairs and community networking sessions
  • Provide cultural and workshop interpretation when required
  • Translate resources for newcomer clients
  • Reach out to local community organizations to promote programs and attract clients
  • Assist and support newcomers arriving at YVR
  • Participate in program meetings focused on service delivery matters
  • Keep supervisors informed about community services, government departments, and relevant procedures
  • Strengthen program outcomes and daily service delivery through assigned professional development
  • Complete other related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social or human sciences
  • Experience supporting newcomers, refugees, temporary foreign workers, naturalized citizens, and international students
  • Background working with multicultural clients and immigrant-focused services
  • Experience delivering workshops and organizing events
  • Experience providing one-on-one settlement services
  • Working knowledge of settlement information and resources
  • Familiarity with the local geographic area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication abilities
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Strong resource management, time management, and organizational abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to excellent service delivery
  • Strong group facilitation capabilities
  • Ability to support individuals and communities navigating cultural adjustment
  • Ability to design, promote, deliver, and facilitate orientation and educational workshops
  • Criminal record check required
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) certification is an asset
  • A second language may be an asset for operational needs
