Collections Supervisor – Element Fleet Management, Mexico City Hybrid

Lead B2B collections, accounts receivable, and SOFOM loan portfolio oversight for Element Fleet Management in a hybrid Mexico City role. Drive DSO, cash recovery, dispute resolution, risk control, and team performance.

Description

  • Lead and develop the Collections team.
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable portfolio while reducing overdue balances.
  • Deliver collection targets covering DSO, aging, past-due balances, and cash recovery.
  • Oversee complex B2B customer accounts.
  • Assess collection risks and root causes, then implement corrective action plans.
  • Partner with Billing, Cash Application, Customer Care, Commercial, Finance, and other teams to resolve issues and accelerate payment.
  • Coach collectors and track team performance.
  • Escalate accounts presenting significant risk.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure customer-specific billing and collection requirements are carried out.
  • Manage and monitor the SOFOM loan portfolio.
  • Lead portfolio oversight, collections, risk assessment, dispute resolution, cross-functional coordination, customer meetings, escalations, projects, and compliance remediation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections, or a related finance function.
  • Experience managing complex B2B customer portfolios.
  • Practical experience with collection negotiations, account reconciliations, dispute resolution, and aging analysis.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or coaching teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Knowledge of Mexican invoicing requirements and SAT/CFDI regulations.
  • Advanced English skills for business meetings and communication with regional or global stakeholders.
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold team members accountable for results.
  • Ability to analyze aging, customer balances, payment behavior, disputes, and portfolio trends.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with complex or high-value B2B customers.
  • Ability to identify financial risks and prioritize high-impact accounts and actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer and senior stakeholder interactions.
  • Ability to determine root causes and coordinate solutions across functions.
  • Consistent follow-through in tracking commitments, actions, deadlines, and customer follow-up.
  • Ability to balance customer relationships with financial objectives and collection requirements.
  • Clear ownership of DSO, overdue-balance reduction, cash recovery, and portfolio quality.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Billing, and Customer Service teams.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and deliver sustainable improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, changing, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of operational and regulatory processes for regulated financial entities such as SOFOMs or banks, including loan lifecycle management, portfolio control, and applicable financial compliance.
