  • Create and deploy production machine learning and large language model systems that extract useful insights from complex legal documents and data
  • Address NLP challenges involving contractual language, information extraction, model-based analysis, and document comparison
  • Design, develop, train, and deploy machine learning and LLM-powered models and systems
  • Deliver production capabilities for information extraction, text generation and summarization, AI agents, search, and document analysis
  • Create dependable, scalable pipelines for model training, evaluation, deployment, and continued production operation
  • Establish evaluation frameworks and metrics covering model quality, accuracy, reliability, drift, and potential bias
  • Improve model performance and resource efficiency through experimentation, feature engineering, model selection, and tuning
  • Convert business and product needs into machine learning solutions from initial experimentation through production scale
  • Partner with machine learning, engineering, product, legal, data, and security teams
  • Safeguard sensitive information while delivering dependable AI capabilities

  • Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline focused on machine learning or artificial intelligence
  • At least three years of professional experience in machine learning engineering, applied machine learning, research engineering, or closely related software engineering
  • Practical experience building, training, and deploying machine learning models in production
  • Strong applied knowledge of machine learning, natural language processing, and current large language model architectures
  • Experience with information extraction, text generation or summarization, AI agents, or search
  • Advanced Python programming ability
  • Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience developing or fine-tuning language models or other machine learning models for specialized applications or domains
  • Experience designing and using model evaluation methods and metrics
  • Ability to turn product or business needs into machine learning solutions and explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and ownership capabilities
  • Preferred: PhD in machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Preferred: Experience deploying and operating ML or LLM systems at scale
  • Preferred: Background in legal technology, legal NLP, legal document analysis, or domain-specific language modeling
  • Preferred: Experience in financial services, economics, or regulated or data-sensitive industries
  • Preferred: Experience serving or self-hosting LLMs and improving computational efficiency
  • Preferred: Experience leading complex ML initiatives from research or experimentation through production with measurable results
