Senior AI Data and Analytics Engineer
Build the data foundation for Samsara’s Connected Operations platform, including Databricks pipelines, semantic models, and AI agents. Support marketing analytics, workflow automation, and trusted self-service data products.
Descriere
- Shape the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA’s data and AI foundation.
- Design and own marketing data infrastructure, from ETL/ELT pipelines and Databricks Gold Layer tables to core data models.
- Create semantic layers, data dictionaries, and documentation for self-service BI and conversational analytics.
- Work with BI to ensure sales and marketing KPIs are based on trusted, well-modeled data.
- Turn unclear questions from Marketing, Sales, and R&D into defined requirements and scalable solutions.
- Lead cross-team initiatives through delivery, including new data pipelines and integrations.
- Manage risks across dependent teams and take responsibility for reliability and data quality.
- Lead technical work on complex problems and raise engineering and code review standards.
- Clear bottlenecks across teams and mentor engineers and analysts.
- Develop AI-powered data products and agents, including integrations, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation practices.
- Automate manual Marketing and GTM workflows with AI, from initial concept to production.
- Deliver and review high-quality Python and SQL, including AI-generated code.
- Promote Samsara’s cultural principles across global teams and new offices.
Cerințe
- At least 8 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering, including substantial hands-on data engineering work.
- Expert proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Strong practical experience in data modeling and dbt.
- Extensive experience with data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT, and the modern data stack.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or a comparable platform such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience building semantic layers and structured documentation suited to AI ingestion and agentic workflows.
- Regular use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, with responsibility for checking and validating AI-generated output.
- Experience building, launching, evaluating, and monitoring LLM or agent systems in production.
- Demonstrated success leading complex cross-team data initiatives and independently gathering requirements from technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, or Product teams.
- Preferred: experience with Databricks and AI agents in its ecosystem.
- Preferred: software engineering experience beyond data or AI engineering.
- Preferred: expertise in data visualization and dashboards for sales and marketing KPIs.
- Preferred: familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM, marketing automation, web analytics, and MarTech tools.
- Preferred: experience with Streamlit, Claude workflows, or web frameworks.
- Preferred: experience in data science, machine learning, or predictive analytics.
- Preferred: comfort working in exploratory settings and iterating on data sources and methods.
- Must live in the United States.
