Senior Director, Data Integration and Automation – Hybrid

Lead MSD’s global data integration, governance, analytics, and automation portfolio. Set enterprise strategy, operating models, investment priorities, and executive governance across functions.

Description

  • Lead information management spanning data flows, data products, governance, DI&A services, AI, automation, business systems validation, analytics, and advanced analytics
  • Develop multi-year strategies, organization designs, and governance models for enterprise programs and portfolios
  • Connect investment decisions, roadmaps, and operating models to organizational priorities
  • Create and direct the Program Management operating model, role architecture, and communication channels
  • Set resource strategies with therapeutic-area and capacity leaders
  • Establish vendor strategy and governance through performance dashboards, commercial controls, and executive reviews
  • Define the learning and development agenda while sponsoring change management
  • Convert organizational priorities into sequenced programs, funding proposals, and measurable goals
  • Establish KPI and KQI strategies and deliver executive dashboards
  • Direct PM organization budgets, business cases, prioritization, and return-on-investment tracking
  • Lead adoption of new operating models and digital capabilities across global functions
  • Own governance structures, decision rights, escalation paths, and executive review processes
  • Represent the assigned scope in enterprise risk and compliance assessments
  • Identify emerging risks and create mitigation plans
  • Build senior stakeholder relationships and resolve systemic obstacles
  • Manage strategic relationships with external organizations, industry consortia, and regulatory bodies
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and in external publications
  • Coach and mentor senior program leaders and cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of Program Management experience, or a master’s or doctoral degree with at least 10 years of experience
  • Preferred background includes three years in clinical research, data management, information management, or a related field
  • Deep subject-matter expertise in a relevant discipline
  • Strong knowledge of information management systems, organization design, role architecture, spans and layers, operating models, and scaling approaches
  • Experience setting multi-year strategy and portfolios and governing investments against measurable return on investment
  • Experience owning standards and process governance frameworks with executive reviews and escalation paths
  • Experience leading resource strategy with therapeutic-area and capacity partners, including PSRM and location, capability, and supplier strategy
  • Enterprise experience developing and governing vendor strategies
  • Ability to design KPI and KQI strategies, analytics, enterprise dashboards, and benefits cadences
  • Expertise in advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and data-informed decision-making
  • Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and technology-deployment compliance
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across global, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lead through influence and motivate geographically distributed teams
  • Sound judgment with strength in accountability, escalation management, and consensus building
  • Ability to recruit and retain talent and plan regional resourcing across sourcing models
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Ability to promote adoption of standardized methods
  • Willingness to travel 25%
