Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician - Billing (Ohio)

Handle pharmacy billing, claims, prescription processing, and patient calls in a remote Ohio role. Support AnewHealth’s pharmacy care management services for patients with complex and chronic conditions.

Description

  • Deliver responsive customer service in a phone-based setting
  • Accurately enter substantial volumes of data and process prescription information
  • Handle prescription authorizations, clarifications, and transfers
  • Adjudicate and audit claims, including prior authorizations, billing, and eligibility verification
  • Conduct outbound patient calls
  • Resolve patient care matters through case queues
  • Coordinate communication between clinical pharmacists and medical professionals
  • Work with technicians and pharmacists to onboard new patients
  • Safeguard confidential patient records
  • Contact physicians to retrieve and verify prescription information
  • Make welcome calls and update patient medication profiles
  • Provide backup coverage during periods of high call volume
  • Answer patient questions by phone
  • Support ExactCare’s nationwide patient population in a high-volume operation

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Active pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Ability to work in an office or remote environment while seated at a desk for approximately 90% of the time
  • Comfort working in a phone-based role
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency with computer equipment, technology, and multiple software applications
  • Outstanding telephone customer service skills
  • Thorough knowledge of medications
  • Knowledge of pharmacy billing
  • Understanding of prescription processing, clarifications, and transfers
  • Strong prioritization and organizational abilities
  • Ability to protect confidential information
  • Critical-thinking and compliant documentation skills aligned with state and federal regulations
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to commute to multiple locations within the assigned territory
  • Willingness to work extended hours when required
