Operations Specialist, HR and Business Operations — Mexico (Remote)

Support HR, finance, and administrative operations for The Nature Conservancy across Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize. Improve processes, coordinate stakeholders, and strengthen service delivery across regional business units.

Description

  • Support the Regional Operations Manager with efficient operational services across the Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico business units
  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operational support activities
  • Promote a strong internal customer service culture
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Information Technology, and other functional teams
  • Identify opportunities to optimize, standardize, and continuously improve processes
  • Help implement operational best practices and resolve operational challenges
  • Handle confidential information and employee-related administrative processes
  • Contribute to change management and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide guidance to operational staff
  • Supervise team members and provide daily leadership, coaching, guidance, and performance support
  • Develop and coordinate tactics for approved strategic plans while completing daily responsibilities
  • Ensure commitments, policies, procedures, financial standards, and legal requirements are fulfilled
  • Implement and manage initiatives aligned with departmental and organizational goals
  • Manage projects, timelines, deadlines, and accountability
  • Participate in complex negotiations
  • Administer HR transactions for the Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico business units
  • Support annual HR activities, including merit reviews and performance partnerships
  • Assist with onboarding and explain organizational structures and functional contacts
  • Support annual budget and quarterly forecast preparation with Finance
  • Monitor completion of staff timesheets
  • Manage business unit staff delegations of authority in partnership with Legal
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and service-oriented team culture

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience coordinating operational, administrative, human resources, finance, or related business processes
  • Experience managing competing priorities, projects, and deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Experience working effectively across departments
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders and service providers
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Supervisory experience, including setting objectives, managing performance, and resolving conflicts
  • Additional language skills or multicultural experience are valued
  • Nonprofit experience is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
