Expert Citrix Systems Engineer - Remote India

Expert Citrix Systems Engineer investigating enterprise logon performance across customer environments in India. The role develops GPO standards, AI-assisted diagnostics, and playbooks while mentoring Systems Engineers.

Description

  • Investigate complex Citrix logon performance issues across every stage of the logon process
  • Analyze logon data across environments, subnets, users, and machines to identify root causes
  • Perform packet-level Wireshark analysis of DNS, drive mapping, proxy/WPAD, and ICA session issues
  • Examine Azure Log Analytics error patterns and correlate findings with logon timelines
  • Interpret Citrix Director, LogicMonitor, Power BI, and related data to uncover systemic patterns
  • Apply AI tools to Citrix configuration data, policy exports, and knowledge-base content
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Citrix VDA GPO configuration and policy standards
  • Detect GPO misconfigurations, overlapping policies, legacy drift, and missing best-practice settings
  • Create and maintain GPO best-practice libraries and Citrix policy standards
  • Investigate proxy/WPAD issues and use Optimus reports to guide remediation
  • Optimize FSLogix containers, profiles, HDX policies, double-hop architectures, StoreFront, and Workspace App configurations
  • Create and improve diagnostic playbooks, training content, recorded sessions, runbooks, and lessons-learned resources
  • Mentor Systems Engineers and lead knowledge-transfer sessions
  • Develop or oversee PowerShell and Python automation for GPO audits, data extraction, and comparisons
  • Partner with internal tooling teams to productionize AI-driven GPO auditing and Citrix policy analysis
  • Within 60 days, evaluate priority-customer logon performance, rank root causes, recommend fixes, and deliver the first diagnostic-playbook iteration
  • Within 6 months, reduce customer logon times, scale systemic improvements, and strengthen team diagnostic capabilities

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of advanced, hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop), including complex multi-site enterprise deployments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
  • Expert knowledge of the Citrix logon process and critical VDA and client-side performance metrics
  • Advanced Windows Group Policy (GPO) expertise, including design, troubleshooting, and optimization in Citrix VDA environments
  • Proficiency with Citrix Director for session analysis, logon-phase assessment, and real-time troubleshooting
  • Experience using Wireshark or comparable packet-capture tools
  • Strong analytical ability to correlate Power BI, LogicMonitor, Azure Log Analytics, event logs, and Citrix Director data
  • Ability to document complex technical findings and turn them into actionable processes and runbooks
  • Experience mentoring engineers with less experience
  • Preferred experience with FSLogix, Azure infrastructure, Citrix StoreFront, Citrix Workspace App, proxy/WPAD, Optimus/OptimistDB, PowerShell or Python, AI/LLM tools, CCE-V certification or equivalent, Healthcare IT or managed services, and double-hop Citrix architectures
