Environmental Science Program Coordinator - Emory University

Description

  • Coordinate operational planning for the Environmental Science program and related activities
  • Set long-term operational objectives and assess research factors that may affect program success
  • Create work plans to achieve program goals and track progress
  • Research topics and collect information for publications
  • Prepare promotional materials, reports, briefings, newsletters, grant materials, and other program documentation
  • Support program conferences, conventions, and meetings
  • Monitor expenditures and contribute to budget planning and financial reporting
  • Identify funding sources and support fundraising strategies and initiatives
  • Prepare operational and statistical reports
  • Conduct training, represent the program at meetings and conferences, and build relationships with affiliated groups
  • Coordinate operations and administration for a multi-work-package research project under the Principal Investigator
  • Maintain the project workplan, administrative calendar, schedules, deliverables, action trackers, records, and documentation
  • Manage consultant and contractor agreements, documentation, approvals, and payments
  • Coordinate with Emory administrative offices and support procurement, shipping, and international import/export activities
  • Identify institutional requirements and forms, prepare or draft documentation, and track processes to completion
  • Organize meetings, follow up on open actions, and support travel and project logistics
  • Identify upcoming decisions, approvals, information, and Principal Investigator actions needed before deadlines
  • Provide administrative coordination for project activities as priorities change

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the program
  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must reside in Georgia
  • Ability to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Sound judgment about when issues require escalation
  • Ability to anticipate administrative needs and work proactively within established deadlines
  • Prior experience with Emory University administrative systems and processes is strongly preferred
  • Experience with contracting, procurement, payments, research administration, international shipping and import/export, and coordination across university administrative offices is strongly preferred
