Strategic Finance Manager - Remote | Clarity Clinic
Lead FP&A, site economics, and provider profitability for Clarity Clinic’s outpatient mental health network. Build financial models, forecasts, reporting, and recommendations that support growth and operational decisions.

- Own the annual budget with department leaders through a driver-based model incorporating provider capacity, payer mix, ramp curves, and headcount
- Maintain the monthly rolling forecast and refresh revenue, expense, and cash projections
- Identify financial risks and opportunities 60 to 90 days in advance
- Develop site-level P&Ls and analyze provider productivity
- Manage provider and PA demand models and recommend hiring triggers for CEO approval
- Supply hiring timing, spending pace, and collection assumptions for the Controller’s 13-week cash forecast
- Create pro formas for new sites and lease arrangements
- Develop service-line economics for PHP/IOP, TMS, and Spravato
- Model provider-level profitability and compensation structures
- Assess payer rate changes, capital planning scenarios, and incentive plan designs
- Translate executive questions into timely financial models and recommendations
- Prepare monthly variance explanations and P&L bridges for Controller review
- Present the P&L bridge during monthly operating reviews
- Prepare board and lender reporting packages for Controller review and sign-off, then present them with the Controller
- Act as the primary contact for departmental data and reporting requests
- Conduct regular check-ins and monthly budget reviews with department leaders
- Lead site P&L reviews with Center Operations Managers
- Maintain consistent definitions for core financial KPIs
- Define financial dashboard requirements for the Data & Analytics team and provide commentary
- Extract and organize data from AdvancedMD, Rippling, the general ledger, and Clarity’s data platform
- Monitor budgeted, actual, and committed spending across all payment channels
- Support the Sage Intacct implementation through cost center design, budget loading, and budget-versus-actual reporting
- Support the financial close with accrual inputs and P&L and balance sheet flux reviews before the Controller locks the trial balance
- Provide Controller coverage for the Senior Accountant by reviewing entries and reconciliations and approving routine payments under the documented approval process
- Complete Clarity Clinic orientation, including HIPAA privacy and security, compliance, and role-specific training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline
- At least five years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, or transaction advisory, including two to three years in an operating FP&A position; six to ten years is ideal
- End-to-end ownership of an annual budget, with input from department or site leaders
- Experience owning a monthly rolling forecast and presenting it to an executive team
- Experience conducting monthly variance analysis and explaining results to non-finance leaders
- Experience owning a unit- or site-level P&L model, preferably with ramp or maturity curves
- Experience defining KPIs and producing recurring reporting packages
- Experience creating and presenting at least one board or lender reporting package
- Experience building an operating model rather than only maintaining an existing one
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting and confidence working closely with actuals
- Advanced Excel modeling skills, including driver-based models, scenario analysis, and sensitivity tables
- Experience partnering with operational leaders as a finance business partner
- Strong written communication and the ability to articulate a clear point of view
- Preferred: Investment banking, consulting, or transaction advisory experience
- Preferred: Background in multi-site healthcare services, behavioral health, or private-equity-backed healthcare
- Preferred: Experience with AdvancedMD
- Preferred: Familiarity with payer mix and CPT-driven revenue
- Preferred: Power BI knowledge sufficient to direct dashboard development
- Preferred: Experience supporting an ERP transition
- MBA, CFA, or CPA is optional
- Complete HIPAA privacy and security training during orientation and annually
- Use aggregated data only and never export patient-level information
- Protect the confidentiality of financial, compensation, and patient-adjacent data
- Occasional travel to Clarity Clinic locations in the Chicago area
