Director of Operations, Supply Chain — California Remote

Description

  • Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, continuity of supply, and operational risk
  • Direct supplier selection, negotiations, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management
  • Oversee contract manufacturers, supplier performance, cost-reduction programs, and sourcing for new product launches
  • Assess market and geopolitical conditions to anticipate and reduce supply disruption risks
  • Own procurement operations, including RFQs, purchasing, procure-to-pay workflows, and performance metrics
  • Lead cross-channel demand and supply planning, covering forecasts, inventory targets, purchasing, and excess or obsolete stock
  • Evaluate demand, lead times, landed costs, and supply patterns to uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Manage 3PLs, carriers, and freight forwarders, including service-level performance
  • Ensure accurate inventory, landed COGS, and product and master data across business systems
  • Oversee inbound and outbound inventory movement, freight coordination, and logistics execution
  • Lead cross-functional supply chain and operations initiatives, coordinating priorities, schedules, risks, and stakeholder updates
  • Create scalable operating routines for planning, procurement, and resource management
  • Manage the operations budget and act as a strategic operating partner to the COO
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Chain and Project Management teams
  • Establish dependable demand and supply planning, supplier networks, sourcing programs, consolidated demand plans, and standardized master data for the ERP transition
  • Report to and collaborate closely with the COO

Requirements

  • Bring 7–10+ years of operations and supply chain leadership experience, preferably in high-growth consumer products, direct-to-consumer, or e-commerce environments
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Demonstrate extensive experience managing contract manufacturers and suppliers across sourcing, negotiation, pricing, performance, and supply continuity
  • Show a successful record of strategic sourcing and measurable cost savings
  • Bring strong demand and supply planning expertise, including forecasting, inventory strategy, and building planning processes from the ground up
  • Have strong capabilities in managing 3PL, fulfillment, and logistics partners
  • Have experience with ERP implementations, systems transitions, or comparable operational transformations
  • Be an effective people leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Be based in the United States and able to work fully remotely
