Data Analyst – Springer Nature, Lisbon (On-site)

Use SQL, Python, and analytics engineering to develop metrics, dashboards, and data solutions for Springer Nature’s scientific publishing and content acquisition teams.

Description

  • Analyze scientific publishing, content acquisition, and global market data to inform business understanding
  • Apply quantitative analysis, business context, and clear storytelling to guide data-driven decisions
  • Define and implement metrics that measure key areas of business performance
  • Build and maintain analytics products that support data querying and self-service
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for monitoring metrics and communicating insights
  • Collaborate on focused research projects to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Strengthen data literacy and encourage data-informed ways of working across the organization
  • Support digital products across planning, analysis, delivery, and ongoing operations
  • Work with Technology, Business, and User Research teams to create organizational value

Requirements

  • A university degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or another related STEM discipline
  • Professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a comparable quantitative role, delivering data solutions for product or business challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and own analytical work
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Advanced experience conducting analysis with Python
  • Knowledge of data visualization principles and tools such as Looker and Plotly
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, including GCP BigQuery or an equivalent platform
  • Experience in analytics engineering, including ETL, analytics pipelines, data modeling, and data testing with tools such as dbt or Dataform
  • Sound statistical knowledge is preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques is advantageous but not required
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • Good command of English
