Cloud Engineer I – AWS and Kubernetes, Remote India

Support Rackspace Technology’s multicloud operations with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, patching, and production support. Manage L1 tickets, incidents, deployments, and infrastructure troubleshooting in a remote India role.

Description

  • Manage BAU tickets, service requests, incidents, and routine operational work
  • Administer and troubleshoot AWS services and Amazon EC2 instances at a foundational level
  • Support applications and workloads hosted on Amazon EKS
  • Troubleshoot core Kubernetes resources and basic networking issues, including Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and logs
  • Assist with application deployments through Helm charts
  • Help install, renew, and troubleshoot SSL/TLS certificates
  • Support Jenkins CI/CD pipelines for application builds and deployments
  • Apply Ansible for standard configuration management and automation tasks
  • Manage AWS Security Groups and investigate basic inbound and outbound rule issues
  • Patch Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Conduct initial diagnosis of Linux and Windows operating system issues
  • Implement standard infrastructure changes through existing Terraform code
  • Review Terraform plans and resolve common deployment issues
  • Investigate issues involving cloud infrastructure, servers, Kubernetes, application releases, CI/CD pipelines, connectivity, and SSL certificates
  • Work according to established SOPs, runbooks, change controls, and operational procedures
  • Take part in on-call coverage and respond to production alerts and incidents
  • Perform initial incident assessment and refer complex problems to L2/L3 teams when needed
  • Record investigation steps, resolutions, and operational changes in tickets

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud infrastructure, DevOps tooling, Linux and Windows administration, troubleshooting, and production support
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS, RDS, Kubernetes, Helm, SSL/TLS certificates, CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, AWS Security Groups, Linux and Windows administration, patching, basic networking, infrastructure troubleshooting, application deployment troubleshooting, and production or on-call support
  • Able to independently complete routine operational work and standard BAU tickets using existing documentation, SOPs, Terraform modules, pipelines, Helm charts, and automation
  • Able to gather the necessary information and escalate complex issues to the appropriate L2/L3 engineers
  • Able to participate in on-call support and respond to production alerts and incidents
