Billing Coordinator – Hybrid, Sarasota

Manage billing inquiries, payments, cancellations, and reinstatements for FCCI Insurance Group’s property and casualty policies. This hybrid role is based in the company’s Sarasota office and supports policyholders, agents, and internal teams.

Opis

  • Deliver customer service for billing inquiries and support billing operations for property and casualty insurance policies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely billing in line with company standards.
  • Act as a primary contact for internal and external customers.
  • Respond to billing inquiries and process transactions.
  • Support policyholder and agency billing, premium audit, claims, underwriting, and other business functions.
  • Review billing activity, issue disbursements, allocate payments, pause cancellations when appropriate, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assess policy cancellations and reinstatements, including reinstatements after nonpayment.
  • Work with underwriting and other partners on payment plans, reinstatement approvals, cancellation exceptions, and account-specific concerns.
  • Investigate and resolve account issues.
  • Explain billing requirements and payment options.
  • Use sound judgment to support positive customer experiences and company objectives.

Zahteve

  • An associate degree is preferred; relevant experience and willingness to learn are also accepted.
  • At least two years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related insurance role; property and casualty experience is preferred.
  • Experience with agency-billed and direct-billed processes is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound grasp of basic accounting principles.
  • Strong computer skills and ease navigating systems.
  • Ability to review account activity, interpret billing guidelines, and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to address complex billing, policy, cancellation, and reinstatement matters.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and support colleagues across departments to improve organizational efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with underwriting and other partners to resolve customer and account concerns.
  • A pre-employment drug screen is required for all positions.
