Field Service Engineer, Reno

Diagnose and repair data center hardware, servers, storage, and networks at customer sites across the Reno area. The role includes travel within an assigned territory and an after-hours on-call rotation.

Apraksts

  • Provide onsite system diagnostics and analysis for customers in an assigned territory or account.
  • Service, test, and analyze computer hardware and systems in response to customer failures.
  • Drive to customer sites within a 120-mile radius for service calls.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and take part in an after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Address customer service requests promptly and professionally.
  • Analyze issues remotely before site visits and identify the parts and documentation needed.
  • Deliver cost-effective onsite service and stay in contact with customers and the support center.
  • Review software and hardware error logs using diagnostic, troubleshooting, and operating system analysis methods.
  • Diagnose and repair data center equipment, including mid- to high-end servers and storage devices.
  • Troubleshoot storage area networks, system configurations, and compatibility issues.
  • Use remote connection tools to diagnose, repair, and reconfigure systems.
  • Follow customer-specific repair procedures and evaluate their current and anticipated needs.
  • Identify parts and quantities, return defective or excess parts, and maintain inventory counts.
  • Complete audit forms, email responses, timesheets, and expense reports.
  • Attend team meetings and accurately log work in the Field Point time reporting utility.

Prasības

  • Experience with OEM data center hardware and the ability to learn new products and concepts.
  • Previous successful experience in a field service role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • CompTIA A+ and Server+ certifications are preferred.
  • Availability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Valid driver's license and suitable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to pull, lift, squat, reach, bend, and stoop.
  • Ability to drive for more than half of the workday.
  • Ability to work at heights, potentially using ladders.
  • Must pass customer background checks and Park Place Technologies' pre-employment screening.
  • Must travel to client sites up to 75% of the time within an assigned territory, with drives of up to four or more hours each way.
  • High school diploma required.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications and OEM hardware certifications from major vendors such as Dell, IBM, and HP are helpful.
