Senior Manager, Client Consulting - Visa Japan (Hybrid)

Lead Visa Japan’s strategic co-brand card partnership, overseeing account growth, client consulting, contract negotiations, and cross-functional delivery.

Description

  • Manage the strategic co-brand card partnership in Japan across the full account lifecycle
  • Partner with Client Relationship Management to establish and deliver shared growth objectives
  • Coordinate Marketing, Product, and other internal stakeholders around client priorities
  • Guide client initiatives from proposal creation and negotiation through contract completion
  • Work with Legal, Finance, Product, and other teams to progress agreements and business initiatives
  • Move projects from planning to delivery while maintaining accountability for commitments and deadlines
  • Use data and business analysis to assess client challenges, portfolio results, and market opportunities
  • Develop and recommend consulting engagements that advance client strategy and commercial growth
  • Serve as the central relationship lead for stakeholders throughout the client organization
  • Track account results and portfolio developments to support relationship and growth discussions
  • Manage contract records, internal updates, project initiation, and compliance processes

Requirements

  • Fluent in Japanese
  • Business-level proficiency in English
  • Substantial client or partner management experience, with a proven ability to independently manage relationships from proposal and contract negotiation through accountable delivery
  • At least 8 years of experience in B2B sales, account management, partnership or alliance management, or consulting
  • Extensive experience leading complex projects across Marketing, Product, Legal, and Finance
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and sound commercial judgment
  • Comfort advancing work and making decisions when information is incomplete
  • Collaborative, diplomatic, and adaptable approach in a matrixed organization
  • High attention to detail and strong discipline in proposals, contracts, and client materials
  • Self-directed and focused on measurable results
  • Ability to manage several competing priorities at once
  • Willingness to adjust plans and scope while maintaining clear client expectations
  • Payments or banking and financial-services experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience with card partnerships, loyalty programs, or the wider payments sector is advantageous but not required
