Senior Data Analyst, AI Evaluation – Life Sciences (RELX, Gurgaon)
Evaluate AI-powered life sciences solutions for Elsevier by developing scientific benchmarks and assessing LLM-as-judge methods. Help validate product quality across real-world scientific and regulatory use cases.
Description
- Use scientific expertise to shape customer-focused success criteria, evaluation rubrics, and acceptance standards for AI solutions.
- Set evaluation scope, metrics, and scenarios across drug discovery, development, and regulatory approval using relevant domain knowledge.
- Create and maintain scientific test sets and benchmarks based on real-world life sciences and regulatory data.
- Tailor LLM-as-judge evaluation methods to individual products, use cases, and performance metrics.
- Assess and improve LLM-as-judge performance in partnership with scientific subject-matter experts.
- Perform both manual and automated reviews of AI-generated outputs.
- Analyze discrepancies and failure modes, delivering evidence-based feedback on evaluation quality.
- Work with product, data science, and engineering teams to improve how AI systems use scientific data.
- Record evaluation results, limitations, and recommendations to inform product enhancements and release decisions.
Requirements
- A strong academic foundation in life sciences, such as bioinformatics, cheminformatics, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Experience assessing AI or algorithmic outputs against scientific data.
- Experience applying scientific knowledge within structured data or content systems, including databases, taxonomies, knowledge graphs, or comparable environments.
- Working familiarity with how AI products access and process data, including basic knowledge of data flows, APIs, and version-controlled workflows such as GitHub.
- A collaborative approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
