Forward Deployed Engineer (United States Remote)

Bring Clutch’s AI agents into production for credit unions by building banking integrations, refining agent behavior, and guiding customer implementations through launch.

Description

  • Lead the transition of AI agents from sold solutions to reliable production deployments for individual credit unions
  • Join discovery meetings to understand each credit union’s operational and technical needs
  • Develop integrations with core banking platforms and loan origination systems
  • Design and refine agent behavior through prompts, tools, and structured evaluations
  • Conduct live testing with credit union employees
  • Provide hands-on support during launch and the initial weeks of production use
  • Deliver production code each week across integrations, modules, and agent systems
  • Coordinate with engineers, pod leads, product managers, AI Operations Managers, and AI sales specialists
  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of credit union implementations
  • Improve agent performance through golden transcripts, rubric-based judges, and regression suites
  • Visit customer sites and turn field observations into informed product decisions
  • Build reusable functionality for the Agents Platform
  • Develop implementation playbooks for AI Operations teams
  • Travel to customer locations when in-person support is required

Requirements

  • At least five years of software engineering experience in a fast-moving environment
  • Advanced TypeScript and Node.js backend experience working in a substantial codebase
  • Practical experience with NestJS, CQRS, schema-validated boundaries, and dependency injection
  • Background in integration and API engineering, including secure service-to-service endpoints, third-party APIs, webhooks, and legacy banking platforms
  • Working knowledge of OAuth, machine-to-machine authentication, tenant-level access controls, secrets management, and keeping PII out of logs
  • Confidence working directly with customers and providing sound technical guidance
  • Availability to travel approximately 20% on average, including one- to two-week periods around kickoffs and launches
  • Residence in the United States with the ability to travel on short notice
  • Strong interest in LLM agents and disciplined evaluation of non-deterministic systems
  • Experience with voice and telephony, Temporal or event-driven orchestration, Python, core banking or LOS integrations, or credit union and banking domains is helpful but not required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship requirements.
