Director of Product Management

Lead enterprise product strategy for Navy Federal’s investment and financial services digital experiences. Guide portfolios, governance, risk, and senior stakeholder alignment.

Description

  • Lead enterprise product strategy for a large portfolio or product function.
  • Set direction, governance, and priorities across product teams, initiatives, and roadmaps.
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape priorities and align execution across teams and functions.
  • Build partnerships across business units, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Oversee the development, launch, and support of digital experiences for self-directed and managed investing, including financial advisor integration.
  • Use business goals, member needs, and risk tolerance to guide portfolio decisions and investment tradeoffs.
  • Use research, data, and insights to shape product strategy, roadmaps, and business outcomes.
  • Identify and manage complex risks across product initiatives, dependencies, and implementation plans.
  • Set consistent delivery practices, governance, and decision-making across teams.
  • Represent portfolio needs, risks, and outcomes in senior leadership discussions.
  • Explain strategic direction, business impact, risks, and progress to senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead change management for product transformation and portfolio priorities.
  • Manage resources and develop leadership and talent through coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology, information systems, product management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • At least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in product management, product strategy, business management, financial services, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of people leadership experience, or equivalent experience as a recognized subject matter expert leading large-scale product portfolios or enterprise product initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing teams or leaders and accountability for performance, delivery, and outcomes across a product function or portfolio.
  • Extensive experience delivering products, projects, or portfolios in structured environments across multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide strategic product decisions in complex, cross-functional settings.
  • Expertise using data, research, and insights to inform strategy, priorities, investment decisions, and outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of processes, systems, risk, compliance, and organizational dynamics.
  • Ability to resolve highly complex or ambiguous problems at the functional or portfolio level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including clear presentations of complex information to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional collaboration across teams, functions, and senior stakeholders.
  • Expert strategic thinking, product judgment, and enterprise prioritization.
  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to translate data, research, and insights into strategic direction.
  • Flexible, adaptive thinking in complex and changing business environments.
