Account Manager, Supermicro - San Jose, CA (Onsite)

Sell Supermicro server, storage, and networking solutions to enterprise and data center customers. Grow accounts, negotiate contracts, and deliver against sales goals.

Description

  • Own product management from launch through end of life
  • Set and implement strategic sales plans that support target attainment
  • Qualify prospects and build target-account lists across enterprise and data center segments
  • Identify corporate customers, value-added resellers, and OEMs through outbound calling and follow-up visits
  • Attend trade shows and other marketing initiatives to generate qualified leads
  • Position Supermicro products and services effectively within the market
  • Build customer relationships, oversee accounts, and expand existing business to support retention and growth
  • Partner with internal teams to prepare and negotiate multiple contract types
  • Oversee daily sales administration and operations
  • Negotiate pricing, track orders, resolve credit matters, and manage sales returns

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred
  • At least one year of practical experience selling computer hardware to data center or enterprise accounts is preferred; software or telecommunications sales experience may also qualify
  • A demonstrated record of effective cold outreach and follow-up with key decision-makers
  • Capacity to work productively both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in pre-call preparation, opportunity qualification, objection handling, call management, and time and territory planning
  • Strong persuasion and contract negotiation abilities
  • Clear, polished communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation settings
  • Highly proactive and organized, with the ability to manage competing responsibilities
  • Strong time and territory management capabilities
