Junior AI/ML Engineer, Generative AI & AWS (Remote, Ukraine)

- Develop RAG system components with senior guidance while taking on greater autonomy
- Create tests and contribute to evaluation harnesses
- Develop production software across AI applications, backend services, and data pipelines
- Connect AI capabilities with backend services and REST APIs
- Help deploy containerized applications to AWS through CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and materials for client handovers
- Contribute to technical conversations and architecture decisions
- Assist with model evaluation and analyze failure modes to improve system performance
- Gradually assume ownership of components and technical decisions

- Take initiative and work independently, seeking clarity instead of waiting for assigned tickets
- Communicate clearly and solve problems effectively
- Work productively through ambiguity with guidance from senior colleagues
- Communicate at B2+ English level within distributed, multicultural teams
- Have practical experience building or contributing to RAG systems, preferably in production or near-production settings
- Use Python and/or TypeScript effectively
- Have practical AWS experience with services such as Lambda, S3, or ECS
- Have worked with containers and CI/CD on real projects
- Have exposure to evaluating non-deterministic systems and conducting test or evaluation cycles
- Understand the fundamentals of model and agent monitoring
- Recognize cost and latency trade-offs in LLM-based applications
- Have practical experience using LLM APIs such as Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI
- Bring at least two years of software or ML engineering experience, including exposure to production systems
- Have solid AI/ML fundamentals and understand common model failure modes
