Senior Legal Counsel, Employment Law — Papaya Global (Hybrid, New York)
Advise Papaya Global on global employment law, commercial contracts, litigation, and corporate matters. Help build AI-enabled legal workflows for a global payroll and payments technology business.
Tavsif
- Advise on global employment matters and serve as the primary legal contact for labor and employment issues, including litigation.
- Support recruiting, hiring, performance management, terminations, compensation, and restrictive covenant matters.
- Draft, revise, and advise on employment, contractor, and separation agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate services agreements, NDAs, DPAs, SaaS agreements, and other contracts for clients, partners, vendors, and third parties.
- Explain employment law requirements and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
- Partner with global teams on employment-related legal matters.
- Coordinate clients’ legal and commercial needs with the relevant legal requirements.
- Work with Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Success on a broad range of legal issues.
- Provide general corporate law support when needed.
- Use AI tools to improve legal workflows, consistency, efficiency, quality, knowledge management, and internal legal operations.
Talablar
- US-qualified attorney or lawyer.
- At least four years of in-house counsel experience in a high-tech or fintech company, combined with experience at a prominent law firm.
- Expert knowledge of local and international labor and employment law.
- Experience in human resources or a related field is advantageous.
- Litigation experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks while remaining self-motivated and persistent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with global customers in multicultural environments.
- Able to explain legal issues and proposed solutions clearly and concisely.
- Hands-on experience using AI in legal drafting, contract review, employment law research, legal summarization, and cross-jurisdictional analysis.
- Able to implement AI-assisted legal workflows, including processes and automation, while preserving accuracy, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
