Description

  • Complete the designated claims professional training program
  • Adjust workers’ compensation claims at varying levels under close supervision
  • Process and respond to claim-related mail, email, and other documents
  • Communicate with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carrier representatives by phone, video conference, and email
  • Investigate new and existing claims using medical records, employer reports, and witness statements
  • Review employment relationships, policy verification, coverage, subrogation concerns, and fraud indicators
  • Determine coverage, compensability, and benefits under jurisdictional guidelines and carrier requirements
  • Maintain claims files and code claim activity
  • Prepare detailed reports of findings and recommendations
  • Administer indemnity and medical benefits while tracking claim actions and state compliance requirements
  • Attend virtual or in-person meetings, claim reviews, and training or business discussions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex situations
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Clear conceptual thinking skills
  • Sound judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical, and discretionary skills
  • Ability to manage work-related stress
  • Computer keyboarding proficiency
  • Ability to hear, see, and speak
