Traveling Field Service Engineer - Chicago and Wisconsin

Travel across Wisconsin and Chicago to support BD automated dispensing systems. Provide installations, preventive maintenance, repairs, technical support, and on-site troubleshooting at customer locations.

Description

  • Deliver remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems
  • Manage, assess, prioritize, and close work orders within service-level requirements
  • Take full ownership of diagnosing and repairing proprietary hardware and software
  • Investigate complex technical problems and escalate them to Senior or Lead Field Service Engineers when necessary
  • Serve government accounts that require eligibility for a CAC
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance programs
  • Complete installations, user in-servicing, repairs, calibrations, and other technical support activities
  • Keep spare-parts inventory accurate and up to date
  • Maintain the company vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment
  • Apply complaint-handling and Medical Device Reporting procedures
  • Produce service records that satisfy regulatory and corporate standards
  • Follow company safety policies, quality expectations, and operating procedures

Requirements

  • Bring 1–3 years of combined experience in hardware, software, and IT support
  • Meet eligibility requirements for access to Federal Government Facilities, including Department of Defense, Bureau of Prisons, Veterans Affairs Hospitals, and Indian Health Services Facilities
  • Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
  • Communicate effectively and provide strong customer service and documentation
  • Work independently, manage competing priorities, and travel as needed
  • Hold an associate degree in a related discipline or have 3+ years of Field Service or Technical Support experience
  • Have experience repairing medical or electromechanical devices
  • Apply mechanical aptitude to disassemble and reassemble complex systems
  • Use Windows operating systems, networking tools, and diagnostic instruments proficiently
  • Operate powered and manual hand tools
  • Frequently lift up to 85 pounds and occasionally lift up to 115 pounds, including overhead
  • Climb, kneel, crawl, reach, grasp, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy company driving requirements
  • Complete daily car travel, with occasional air travel and overnight stays
  • Have 24×7 on-call service experience, preferred
  • Hold CompTIA A+ certification or an equivalent credential, preferred
