Senior Database Report Writer/Analyst - South Carolina Remote

Palmetto GBA is seeking a senior database report writer/analyst for a remote role supporting BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. The position focuses on SQL, DB2, mainframe reporting, data analysis, and retrieval systems.

Description

  • Develop reports from user requirements and specifications
  • Maintain and update programming logic for recurring reports to support accurate, timely delivery
  • Evaluate existing reporting methodologies
  • Build and maintain computer-based and web-based data retrieval systems
  • Produce recurring internal and external reports on daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules
  • Interview customers to define criteria for requested data
  • Update programming logic to meet customer specifications and requirements
  • Support system testing and provide technical assistance
  • Contribute to departmental training activities
  • Work on project teams developing, maintaining, and implementing processes, applications, policies, and forms

Requirements

  • Associate's degree, or two years of job-related experience accepted as degree equivalency
  • Three years of experience working with database, mainframe, or spreadsheet applications
  • Three years of experience with Easytrieve, DB2, SQL, or comparable programs; experience may be concurrent
  • Strong computer skills and a solid working background with spreadsheet and database applications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective organizational, analytical, customer service, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of mathematical or statistical concepts
  • Ability to understand differences among dataset types
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
