Senior Commercial Property Claims Technical Specialist

Handle complex, high-severity commercial property claims for Core Specialty, including oversight of third-party adjusters. The role covers coverage analysis, negotiations, regulatory compliance, and claim resolution.

Description

  • Manage complex, high-severity first-party property claims directly.
  • Oversee first-party property claims managed by third-party administrators.
  • Apply claim handling standards for coverage, investigation, liability, damage assessment, and resolution.
  • Guide third-party administrator claim handlers with technical direction and oversight.
  • Review insurance policies and promptly identify coverage concerns.
  • Track claim diaries to keep claims progressing toward resolution.
  • Direct or oversee claim handling in line with applicable jurisdictional regulations.
  • Represent the company at claim market meetings.
  • Keep internal partners informed about major losses and related insights.
  • Assess and implement improvements to customer service, technical quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the Property Claim Quality Assurance program.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of commercial property coverage forms.
  • Experience in Florida and/or Texas markets; multi-jurisdictional experience is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of building damage estimation practices.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment.
  • Advanced negotiation skills, including alternative dispute resolution through appraisal, mediation, and arbitration.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to review processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency with automated claims systems.
  • Solid understanding and effective use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Required adjuster licenses.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of commercial property claims experience.
  • Personal lines property claims experience is preferred.
  • Liability claims experience is preferred.
  • Litigation management experience is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
  • The employer cannot sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
