Part-Time Financial Counseling Representative – St. George, Utah (On-Site)
Guide hospital patients through insurance coverage, payment choices, and financial assistance options. Support R1 RCM’s revenue-cycle services at its St. George and Cedar City locations.
Description
- Help patients understand insurance coverage, benefits, and expected out-of-pocket expenses
- Discuss payment arrangements and available financial assistance with patients
- Confirm insurance eligibility and clearly explain coverage details
- Support Medicaid and financial assistance application processes
- Develop trust with patients navigating stressful financial circumstances
- Partner with care teams and revenue-cycle departments
- Keep documentation accurate across multiple systems
- Manage insurance programs, financial assistance resources, and patient account needs in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Balance system work, phone communication, and face-to-face interactions with clinicians and emergency staff
Requirements
- Demonstrated customer service ability with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach when assisting patients, clients, and colleagues
- Ability to explain financial and insurance information in clear terms
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills
- Professional and tactful approach to sensitive financial discussions
- High school diploma or GED
- Spanish bilingual ability is strongly encouraged
- Availability for PRN shifts Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
