Experienced Spanish Medical Interpreter (Remote, Latin America)
Provide confidential English-Spanish medical interpretation by phone for clients across Latin America. The role offers a pathway from over-the-phone interpretation to video remote interpreting.
Description
- Interpret accurately and consecutively, primarily in medical settings.
- Interpret for social services, customer care, and financial clients.
- Remain impartial and protect confidential information.
- Begin with over-the-phone interpretation (OPI).
- Progress through a direct pathway to video remote interpretation (VRI).
- Interpret for organizations in healthcare, legal, finance, customer service, and social services.
Requirements
- At least 6–12 months of remote medical interpreting experience.
- C1 English proficiency, demonstrated through EF SET 4-Skill, TOEFL, or CAE.
- ALTA (9+) or LanguageStat/PICSI (75%–80%+) certification preferred, issued within the past 12 months.
- Strong command of medical and customer service terminology.
- HIPAA and FWA certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
- Pass a background check.
- Wired Ethernet connection; Wi-Fi is not accepted.
- USB noise-canceling headset.
- Windows 10 or newer computer with at least 4 GB RAM.
- Private, quiet workspace.
- Based in Latin America.
- Able to interpret between English and Spanish.
