Engineering Manager, Mobile Development Productivity at Stripe — Remote, United States

Lead Stripe’s Mobile Development Productivity team and shape the platform that supports mobile engineering. The role covers development environments, CI, testing, secure releases, and AI-assisted development workflows.

Description

  • Set the technical direction for Stripe’s Mobile Development Productivity engineering team and mobile platform.
  • Partner with mobile product and infrastructure leaders to surface shared development challenges, prioritize them, and turn long-term technical goals into actionable plans.
  • Build and develop a team responsible for engineering environments, continuous integration, testing infrastructure, and secure build and release workflows.
  • Direct efforts that help AI agents contribute to mobile development through realistic environments, effective tools, and useful validation feedback.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and create growth opportunities for engineers.
  • Establish technical strategy, objectives, and roadmaps that connect organizational priorities and internal user needs to delivery plans.
  • Collaborate with mobile product, infrastructure, and technical leadership teams to create reusable solutions.
  • Work with staff engineers on architecture and high-impact technical decisions.
  • Set expectations for reliability, security, engineering quality, and operational discipline.
  • Use developer productivity, build and test performance, and release health data to inform investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with distributed colleagues to preserve alignment, visibility, and clear ownership.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of software development experience, including three or more years managing engineering teams.
  • Experience leading teams that create platforms, frameworks, infrastructure, or tools for other engineers.
  • Ability to set technical strategy, steer architectural decisions, and turn ambiguous objectives into an executable roadmap.
  • Track record of hiring, coaching, and developing engineers while building an inclusive, supportive, and appropriately challenging team environment.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners without formal authority, communicate with varied audiences, and lead complex decisions involving tradeoffs.
