Director of Information Technology — United States Remote

Lead BetterHealth’s healthcare IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, integrations, security, and support operations. Own technology strategy, compliance, vendor management, and internal IT team leadership.

Description

  • Direct the design, deployment, and upkeep of secure, scalable IT infrastructure and external integrations
  • Maintain system availability, performance, and security across the technology environment
  • Oversee enterprise cloud platforms and services, including Microsoft 365 and AWS
  • Manage technology vendors and software licensing agreements
  • Direct the provisioning and lifecycle management of hardware, software, and user access
  • Build and maintain business continuity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Deliver timely, effective support for internal and external users
  • Deploy systems and tools that improve employee productivity and security
  • Coordinate system enhancements, product maintenance, support, upgrades, updates, and patches
  • Partner with senior leadership to align IT priorities with organizational objectives
  • Assess, select, and implement internal tools and systems
  • Advance automation and operational process improvements
  • Create technology roadmaps covering infrastructure modernization, cloud services, cybersecurity, and end-user computing
  • Assess emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation platforms, and workflow optimization tools
  • Lead, coach, and develop information technology personnel
  • Shape team structure, performance objectives, and professional development plans
  • Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, PCI, and organizational data governance standards
  • Recommend, author, and maintain IT standard operating procedures
  • Support audits, risk management programs, cybersecurity insurance obligations, and incident response planning
  • Manage the Infrastructure Manager, Integration Manager, and Service Desk Analyst functions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • At least eight years of progressive IT experience, including three or more years in senior leadership or director-level positions
  • Demonstrated success managing enterprise IT infrastructure and internal support operations
  • Experience leading cloud technology environments, including Microsoft 365 and AWS
  • Background supporting regulated healthcare organizations and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA
  • Experience overseeing technology vendors, software licensing, professional services relationships, and technology budgets
  • Strong leadership and people-management capabilities, including experience building and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Working knowledge of ITIL practices, cybersecurity, and systems integration
  • Experience in server administration and cloud engineering, preferably with AWS
  • Experience administering and governing Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune
  • Experience with identity and access management, Zero Trust security, MFA, conditional access, and endpoint management
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using Confluence and Jira for documentation, project management, and ticketing
  • Experience administering enterprise identity and access management platforms such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO, MFA, provisioning, lifecycle management, conditional access, and application integration
  • Experience deploying AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot and establishing related governance practices
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 and FHIR APIs
