Associate Editor, Editorial Booking — The Atlantic

Books high-profile interviews and guest appearances across The Atlantic’s print, digital, audio, and video platforms. Coordinates contracts, production logistics, contacts, and internal tracking.

Description

  • Help secure and coordinate prominent interviews and guest appearances across The Atlantic’s magazine, website, Book Club, podcasts, video, newsletters, and audience platforms.
  • Act as a booking contact for editors, producers, and newsroom leaders seeking interview subjects and guest talent.
  • Coordinate contracts and releases with the legal team when appropriate.
  • Arrange virtual and in-person appearances with editorial, production, operations, and building management teams.
  • Develop and maintain a network of current and prospective contacts.
  • Maintain schedules and tracking systems for upcoming interviews to support newsroom awareness and coordination.
  • Handle additional pre- and post-production logistics as needed.
  • Report to a managing editor.

Requirements

  • Be ambitious and energetic.
  • Be resourceful, organized, adaptable, persuasive, and collaborative.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively.
  • Bring excellent diplomacy and research skills.
  • Understand journalistic standards well.
  • Booking experience is helpful but not required.
  • Successfully complete reference checks.
  • Follow The Atlantic’s COVID-19 vaccination policy by submitting proof of vaccination unless granted an accommodation.
  • Be based in New York or Los Angeles.
