Client Service Assistant - Hamilton, Ontario (Hybrid)

Support BMO wealth advisors with client service, account administration, and investment-related requests. This hybrid role serves clients across the Hamilton and Burlington offices.

Description

  • Provide daily administrative support to Investment Advisors, advisor teams, staff, and private wealth branch operations
  • Deliver high-quality client service while supporting relationship management and business growth
  • Coordinate marketing initiatives such as website updates, social media, client recognition, and events
  • Prepare materials for client meetings and manage appointment scheduling
  • Respond to client requests involving basic money movement, technology issues, account openings, and account updates
  • Create reports and documents and process client account and file-related activities
  • Maintain accurate, organized client databases and files
  • Assign and track transactions and other tasks through completion
  • Help team members with technology, policies, procedures, processing questions, and escalations
  • Collect and share updates about training, guidelines, technology, and business information
  • Help manage a client portfolio and deliver customized investment-related services
  • Work collaboratively across the market, with BMO partners, and in the community
  • Follow risk and compliance procedures to protect assets, preserve privacy, and serve clients’ best interests
  • Safeguard bank and client assets while meeting regulatory, legal, and ethical obligations
  • Assess issues, identify appropriate next steps, and escalate matters when necessary
  • Use BMO’s Risk Management Framework to make risk-aware decisions consistent with policies, laws, and regulations

Requirements

  • Bring typically 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • A related post-secondary degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of wealth management firms and branch operations is an asset
  • Knowledge of traditional and alternative investment products is an asset
  • Be familiar with technology applications and software used in financial planning and investment environments
  • Meet Investment Representative licensing requirements with CIRO and the certification requirements for the applicable branch and jurisdiction
  • Possess basic specialized knowledge
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Work effectively with colleagues and teams
  • Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to work from the Lime Ridge Mall location in Hamilton and the Burlington office as needed
