Assistant Branch Manager – Spanish Fork, Utah

Lead branch staff and support member service, lending, and compliance operations. Help Mountain America Credit Union meet its branch goals through member-focused financial services.

Description

  • Help lead branch operations and staff to deliver strong member service and meet branch goals.
  • Train and coach team members on AAA skills, branch functions, policies, procedures, and philosophies.
  • Promote accountability and a consistent focus on member service.
  • Conduct individual check-ins and prepare development plans with team members.
  • Assess direct reports and contribute to employee performance reviews.
  • Support change initiatives and strategies for hiring, onboarding, employee growth, and retention.
  • Address member and employee concerns and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Represent the credit union locally and contribute to community development efforts.
  • Support daily branch activities, including cash handling and compliance.
  • Use the Member Value Review, Value Analyzer, and New Account Framework sales tools.
  • Make loan decisions and provide backup for branch manager loan exceptions.
  • Monitor team productivity, accuracy, sales results, and service quality.
  • Build knowledge of credit union finances and apply policies to members’ needs.
  • Help maintain branch security and facilities.
  • Follow applicable regulations, including BSA, OFAC, the FACT Act, GLBA, Regulation CC, and Regulation DD.
  • Work with internal partners to serve members and support staff development.
  • Maintain suitable staffing and coverage for credit union products and services.
  • Supervise and review assigned staff, assess staffing needs, and allocate work.
  • Recommend candidates, conduct performance and salary reviews, and apply company policies.
  • Carry out other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of financial industry experience, including 1 year or more in lending.
  • A two-year college degree, specialized business or trade school coursework, or equivalent.
  • Meet the Branch Progression training expectations for all supervised positions.
  • Hold a Notary Public commission or, where possible, obtain one within the first 90 days.
  • Qualify annually as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E. Act Registration.
  • Basic computer operation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Symitar experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit union policies and procedures.
  • Relevant experience in financial institution operations, lending, loan origination, and sales.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in line with credit union policies.
  • Ability to supervise, train, lead, and coach others.
  • Strong leadership skills and a record of preparing and mentoring emerging leaders, including managing difficult situations successfully.
  • Ability to consistently talk, hear, sit, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Eligibility to work as a Mortgage Loan Originator under S.A.F.E. Act Registration.
