Join The Cigna Group as an AI/ML engineering intern developing scalable machine learning frameworks, data pipelines, and cloud services. Support Evernorth Health Services’ healthcare AI and MLOps initiatives.

Description

  • Develop reusable machine learning frameworks that speed model development and production deployment
  • Create scalable data pipelines and feature-engineering solutions with Python, SQL, Spark, Databricks, or comparable technologies
  • Build production-ready APIs, cloud-native services, and intelligent applications
  • Support MLOps automation, containerized deployments, monitoring, and dependable engineering practices
  • Analyze large healthcare datasets such as pharmacy and medical claims, member records, call transcripts, surveys, and web logs
  • Collaborate with technical and business partners to turn complex requirements into scalable, responsible solutions and communicate results effectively
  • Investigate generative AI, agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, and real-time prediction use cases
  • Record your learning, incorporate feedback, and work closely with engineers, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, operations research, bioinformatics, information systems, computational linguistics, or another quantitative discipline
  • At least one year of practical experience in machine learning, data engineering, analytics, or software engineering through coursework, research, internships, or professional projects
  • Working knowledge of Python and SQL, including experience preparing data or developing technical solutions
  • Experience creating or supporting machine learning, data engineering, or software engineering solutions through academic or applied projects
  • Ability to communicate technical work clearly, collaborate across disciplines, and respond constructively to feedback and new information
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future employment sponsorship
