Staff Data Scientist in Poland (Hybrid)
Lead search, recommendation, generative AI, and computer vision initiatives as a Staff Data Scientist. Build scalable ML systems supporting FYUL’s global on-demand commerce products.

- Shape the architecture for candidate retrieval, multi-objective ranking, and learning-to-rank models supporting product and design recommendations
- Improve personalization through sequence embeddings that capture merchant history, niche trends, and sales performance
- Link merchant sales and conversion outcomes to upstream design-generation and candidate-ranking systems
- Lead image-generation pipelines using LLMs, multimodal models, diffusion models, UNets, and Vision Transformers
- Build classical and deep-learning computer vision solutions for delayering, background removal, print-area analysis, and asset validation
- Own product-engineering decisions across model selection, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, self-hosting, serving, and frontend workflows
- Prototype, refine, and deliver end-to-end agentic pipelines and ML features with AI-assisted development tools
- Establish online and offline evaluation methods using NDCG, MRR, visual-quality measures, and merchant conversion uplift
- Manage the ongoing A/B testing strategy
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options, API and self-hosted fine-tuning approaches, and inference optimization opportunities
- Define organization-wide standards for applied machine learning
- Mentor senior individual contributors and lead technical design reviews
- Promote a delivery culture centered on measurable business outcomes
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least eight years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and scaling production ML systems, including demonstrated staff-level technical leadership
- Advanced knowledge of search, candidate-generation, and recommendation systems, including Two-Tower models, ANN vector indexes, Transformer rerankers, and learning-to-rank methods
- Practical expertise with OpenCV and modern computer vision architectures such as CNNs, Vision Transformers, diffusion models, and multimodal LLMs/CLIP
- Experience creating closed-loop ML systems that use clicks, conversions, and sales outcomes to improve upstream training and generation logic
- Strong Python skills and fluency with modern AI/ML tooling, including PyTorch for deep learning and vision
- Experience using LLM orchestration and agentic frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
- Production experience with serving patterns including FastAPI and event-driven asynchronous processing
- Experience with MLOps platforms such as CometML and Flyte
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake
- Comfort using Gemini, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork in development workflows
- Track record of owning end-to-end features and making architecture decisions across the full stack
- Experience in e-commerce, two-sided marketplaces, or creator platforms is a plus
