Opis

  • Help the Head of Strategic Communications deliver strategies that advance Rail Delivery Group’s Board Priorities and support the transition to Great British Railways (GBR).
  • Plan and lead high-quality communications across several workstreams.
  • Create and deliver proactive, multi-channel campaigns for organisational priorities, industry reform and transformation programmes.
  • Turn complex reform, policy and transition developments into clear messages for colleagues, members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Communications team to join up activity and meet organisational standards and objectives.
  • Build connections with colleagues, industry partners and member organisations to spot opportunities, gather insight and shape content.
  • Support Rail Delivery Group’s communications strategy for the transition to GBR, explaining industry reform and the implications of public ownership.
  • Create and deliver communications and engagement plans that build awareness, confidence and readiness for change.
  • Work with transition leads and stakeholders at Rail Delivery Group, DfT, DFTO, Network Rail and across the rail industry.
  • Lead communications for key GBR milestones, including leadership briefings, stakeholder updates, presentations, events and related materials.
  • Run engagement sessions, workshops and opportunities to listen to stakeholders.
  • Spot communications risks and issues, plan mitigations and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Create written, visual and digital materials, independently or with agency partners.
  • Oversee external agencies and suppliers, covering briefs, performance, budgets, deadlines and quality standards.
  • Assess communications using audience insight and performance data.
  • Help build an inclusive, collaborative Communications team and contribute to professional development.
  • Manage relationships with Rail Delivery Group members, suppliers, agencies, staff, directors and external stakeholders.

  • Lead communications delivery, directly or through colleagues on the communications team.
  • Manage several projects at once, delivering on budget and to a high standard.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the industry, listen to differing perspectives and develop effective communications.
  • Take a strategic, organisation-wide view to anticipate issues, solve problems and build coalitions around solutions.
  • At least five years of communications or marketing experience.
  • Experience across a broad range of communications disciplines, including events, stakeholder engagement, media, social and marketing.
  • A track record of developing and delivering campaigns that influence behaviour and measure results.
  • Create content in Canva and produce in-house videos using basic video skills.
  • Work directly with senior colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders to provide communications support.
  • Build relationships and networks with important internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use sound judgement and adapt plans as the external environment changes.
