Staff Content Manager, German Legal Content (Remote - Germany)

Lead Clio’s German legal content strategy across case law, legislation, publishing quality, and AI-enabled legal research. Own coverage, resilient content pipelines, and measurable commercial outcomes for the German market.

Description

  • Own Clio’s German legal-content roadmap and define targets for completeness, update speed, enrichment, and reliability.
  • Set the standard for German legal-content coverage, currency, and quality against beck-online, Wolters Kluwer Germany, and juris.
  • Improve win rates, customer trust, and retention while connecting German content performance to revenue.
  • Identify gaps in German case law and legislation, then prioritize them by legal significance, customer demand, competitive exposure, and remediation cost.
  • Direct build, buy, and licensing decisions in partnership with Licensing, Legal, and Corporate Development.
  • Manage a prioritized backlog with Content Operations and Engineering while supporting the transition to Iceberg.
  • Develop dependable content pipelines, reduce fragile third-party dependencies and manual work, and establish monitoring, fault-tolerance, and recovery standards.
  • Partner with German Editorial and Operations teams to strengthen metadata for case law and legislation, including citations, amendments, summaries, and hierarchy.
  • Combine editorial quality review with AI tools to improve content discovery and downstream AI applications.
  • Partner with Finance and FP&A on German content expenditure and reporting for cost per document, ingestion speed, coverage parity, and enrichment reach.
  • Report roadmap delivery, risks, and business impact to the Content Committee each quarter.
  • Benchmark Clio’s German coverage against regional providers and monitor emerging AI and NLP approaches for legal text.
  • Develop relationships with courts, publishers, and open-data organizations.
  • Enable Product, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams on Clio’s German content and maintain the German Legal Materials Reference Guide.
  • Support enterprise opportunities requiring extensive German legal-content expertise, including Product Marketing and Sales Enablement.

Requirements

  • Bring 7–10 years of experience in legal publishing, legal data, or content and product management, with ownership of a content portfolio from inception through delivery.
  • Possess deep knowledge of Germany’s legal system and publishing market, including local standards for authority and currency.
  • Have direct experience working with German case law and legislation in legal research or practice platforms.
  • Demonstrate senior- or staff-level strategy ownership and measurable results beyond project execution.
  • Show strong product ownership and the ability to lead across teams without direct authority.
  • Use quantitative analysis and ROI modeling to guide prioritization.
  • Be comfortable with ETL pipelines, ingestion systems, and metadata structures.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
  • Have established standards or operating practices adopted by other teams.
  • Maintain a strong interest in developing your practice through AI.
