Specification Sales Manager – Manchester, Hybrid

Lead specification sales for Armstrong HVAC fluid-flow solutions across the West Midlands and South West England. Grow territory revenue through customer relationships, engineering specifications, and market development.

Description

  • Exceed assigned bookings and shipment targets across the designated territory
  • Manage assigned accounts while maintaining high customer satisfaction
  • Prepare proposals and quotations in line with the Armstrong sales process
  • Expand the direct customer base through relationships with customers, distributors, and design engineers
  • Identify new market opportunities and strengthen brand recognition and customer loyalty
  • Build client relationships and engage consulting engineers proactively to secure Basis of Design status
  • Assess customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
  • Provide post-sale support and address customer issues
  • Analyze and report customer feedback to improve service levels and increase market share
  • Sell Armstrong products and solutions according to the company’s sales strategy and process
  • Keep current knowledge of product features, benefits, and competitive advantages
  • Contribute to sales strategies, marketing channels, and sales forecasts
  • Apply commercial best practices consistent with the Armstrong Sales Process
  • Keep CRM records of sales activity and customer information accurate and current
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports
  • Track competitor activity and market conditions
  • Represent Armstrong at trade fairs, including booth preparation and attendee engagement
  • Assist with special projects assigned by the line manager
  • Promote teamwork and cross-functional collaboration

Requirements

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Substantial sales experience in HVAC or a related industry
  • Ability to develop and deliver persuasive presentations to prospective customers
  • Experience using sales processes and value tools to present sustainable, energy-efficient solutions
  • Experience managing customer sales data, forecasts, and reports in a CRM or similar system
  • Strong technical understanding of HVAC products and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing abilities
  • Demonstrated capability in value-based and solution selling
  • Proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving with initiative
  • Team-focused leadership skills, professional presence, and a bias toward action
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate openly and authentically
  • Valid, clean driving licence
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally
